Is it just me, or is the sentence speculating on Alvarez's ethnic identity unnecessary? Aion 03:21, 29 Jan 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Following investigations

The article said that police said "recent investigations" had shown that Alvarez may not have been intending suicide. First of all, the edit that added that sentence was made more than a year ago, so I changed the word "recent" to "following." Second, I had not heard this information and I did not see it sourced, so I posted a comment on the editor's talk page and also added a verify tag to the article. If anyone can verify that info, please remove the verify tag, post the source, and let me know on my talk page so I can copy the info to the Glendale train crash article (unless you want to copy it yourself). Thanks! cluth 02:49, 20 August 2006 (UTC)

I did a little searching and found this blog post. Unfortunately, the two articles it links to (one from KCAL and the other from the L.A. Times) both result in 404 errors--probably because they are old links. The blog post seems to be a quote from the AP story, so I now can believe that this article is factually accurate. Since it could still benefit from additional sourcing, I'm going to leave the tag up. I will also search Google for some of the key words in the blog post and also check the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine... cluth 03:14, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
I probably should do all this work before I post these comments. I just found what I was looking for here. I'll update the article accordingly. It could probably still use some updating to reflect any further developments in the case as of now... cluth 03:17, 20 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Who?

Yeah, you can call me lazy for not finding it out on my own, but... the article doesn't say if this guy was the engineer operating the train, or just someone who did some scheming and plotting to make the train crash. Would be a useful addition to the article. 69.65.232.61 00:31, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
