Juan Francisco Torres Belén (born 9 January 1985 in Crevillente, Alicante) also known as Juanfran is a Spanish footballer. As of 2006 plays for CA Osasuna.

Juanfran is a product of the Real Madrid youth academy, Castilla with whom he signed in 2002. After impressive performances for Castilla, he was promoted to the main team in the 2003/04 La Liga season. He played five matches with Madrid during that season.

An extraordinary scintillating performance in UEFA U19 Championship with Spain brought him the title, and the Golden Player Award.[1] He has already have a tumultuous flying schedule since his teenage time, representing Spain in two U20 FIFA World Championships, the first was held in UAE , where Spain grabbed the silver medal [2] , and the second one took place in Netherland , where they reached the quarter final before being beaten by Argentina, which later became the winner of the tournament. [3].

He was loaned out to RCD Espanyol in the 2005/2006 season.

He signed with CA Osasuna after a deal with the Real Madrid that allowed CA Osasuna to get the player without having to pay a transfer fee and with per-seted price of €10m.[4]

Contract specifics:

  • R.Madrid can recall him in January 2007 for €2m, or pay €3m to Osasuna in order to recall him in the 2007/08 season.
  • If Osasuna loans Juanfran in 2006/08 season (to a team other than Madrid), Osasuna will have to pay €0.2m to Madrid.
  • If Osasuna sells Juanfran in January 2007, Madrid would receive 50% of the transfer fee.
  • If Osasuna sells Juanfran in 2007/09 period, Madrid would receive 20% of the transfer fee.
