Juan Carlos Mareco (born January 20, 1926 in Carmelo) is an Uruguayan actor and radio and TV talk-show host. He achieved fame in Chile and Argentina during the 1960s as host of TV variety shows.
Mareco was nicknamed Pinocho (Pinocchio) and was both the Spanish language voice actor and the foil for the South American version of Italian marionette Topo Gigio.
In the 1970s Mareco faced political persecution in Argentina because of his Peronist ideas. He returned to TV after the 1982 Falklands War as host of a successful afternoon talk show.
Mareco received several awards, including a Konex Awards nomination for TV host in 1991, and remained in TV until his retirement.
