[edit] Comment

Please do not delete or edit legitimate talk page comments, as you did at Talk:Lestat (musical). Such edits are disruptive and appear to be vandalism. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. KJS77 07:06, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

I don't think you noticed but the discussion part of the Lestat musical page was full of insults and talk about suicidal tendencies and other things. And some person keeps removing the plot summery from the page, which is an important part of the page.

Please stop. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to Talk:Lestat (musical), you will be blocked from editing. Elenseel 07:13, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

This is your last warning. The next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to Talk:Lestat (musical), you will be blocked from editing. Elenseel 07:14, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

I don't think you noticed but the discussion part of the Lestat musical page was full of insults and talk about suicidal tendencies and other things. And some person keeps removing the plot summery from the page, which is an important part of the page. I removed some very offensive content. How is that vandalism?

Blanking the entire page and replacing it with completely unrelated material is considered vandalism. Also, removing the warning tags from your user talk is frowned upon. I suggest reading up on editing wikipedia.--Tao of tyler 07:21, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
From the way that those seemingly suicidal statements were made in a joking manner. Furthermore, complete removal of talk page comments is not inline with Wikipedia's policies. I also recommend that you sign your edits on talk pages by typing four tildes (~). Elenseel 07:22, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

MusicMaker5376 keeps removing large chunks of important content from the page. The page isn't specifically for the New York version of the play and there isn't a seperate page for the San Francisco version and he deletes all the content that explains the drastic contrasts between the two pages. What should I do?

First off, do not continue to blank large portions of the page. As Elenseel said, the way that you were editing the page by blanking it completely and then replacing it with text such as "someone has been vandalizing this page" makes it come off as vandalism in itself, so discontinue that.
Also, instead of removing large bits of information on the page, add some. Look at ways you can add to the page without taking content away. I recommend that you look at the help section on the left hand side to examine better and more constructive ways of editing wikipedia pages.--Tao of tyler 07:30, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
I must stress that you learn Wikipedia's policies if you wish to contribute positively. Musicmaker5376 is cleaning up the article, as per mandated by Wikipedia policy. Perhaps you should seek a mentor, to take you under their wing to teach you how to edit Wikipedia. However, any further edits to the page and I will seek a 3RR ban. But they're not just removing little pieces here and there. They're removing anything that mentions the songs of the play as well as the two drastically different versions, making it look like there was only one version of the play. They removed both plots all together.

I'm sorry it's come to this, but you have blatantly gone against Wikipedia's 3RR policy, and have page blanked multiple times. Elenseel 07:34, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

What are you talking about? I didn't blank anything after the last post in here. The discussion page stil has all it's original content.

[edit] Apology

I apologize if my comments on the talk page for Lestat were taken as being incendiary. I didn't mean them to be, I was just being flippant and humorous and I should know better than that.
However. You need to understand some basic things about Wikipedia. Articles do not reflect what YOU want. Nor do they reflect what I want. They reflect what a consensus of editors come to decide as the best form of the article.
I work with WikiProject Musical Theatre, a group of Wikipedians dedicated to improving the quality of Wikipedia's coverage of Musical Theatre. As part of that, I was going through all of the articles on musicals and adding infoboxes (the little box on the right) and doing general "cleanup". Part of that cleanup means getting the articles into the article structure that we've recently devised. This structure is the result of several months of debate and reflects what the consensus believes to be the best structure for articles on musicals. In my edits, I was attempting to bring the article more in keeping with that structure.
This structure is by no means set in stone. I understand that Lestat existed in two drastically different versions, but two articles on the same show is inadvisable. Two synopsises in one article, too, is inadvisable. Wikipedia exists for readers, not for editors. Two synopsises are bound to confuse the reader.
Now, I have absolutely no vested interest as to what synopsis is on the page. I have no feelings whatsoever about that show. If you feel that the San Francisco synopsis should be there, put it in. If you feel that the San Francisco song list should be in, put it there. HOWEVER, we need to find some way to indicate what was eventually changed for the Broadway production. They both can't be there.
As for The Man Who Fell to Earth (musical), it's probably a little too soon for an article. Articles in Wikipedia have to be on something notable. The musical is not (yet) notable. As I understand it, it has yet to be performed. If, once it's performed, it achieves a major production in a big city, then it can be included in WP. Right now, it's just notes on a page. You yourself said that it may or may not ever be performed -- that is exactly the reason why it should not be included in Wikipedia. I suggest you read up on Wikipedia policies. Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information.
Again, my apologies for the misunderstanding. I look forward to hearing your ideas on how we can improve Lestat (musical). —  MusicMaker 08:11, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] AfD Nomination: The Man Who Fell to Earth (musical)

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but all Wikipedia articles must meet our criteria for inclusion (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Since it does not seem that The Man Who Fell to Earth (musical) meets these criteria, an editor has started a discussion about whether this article should be kept or deleted.

Your opinion on whether this article meets the inclusion criteria is welcome. Please contribute to the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Man Who Fell to Earth (musical). Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them.

Discussions such as these usually last five days. In the meantime, you are free to edit the content of the article. Please do not remove the "articles for deletion" template (the box at the top). When the discussion has concluded, a neutral third party will consider all comments and decide whether or not to delete the article. -- Jreferee (Talk) 02:15, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
