Orphaned fair use image (Image:Golden Axe front cover.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Golden Axe front cover.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Carfax_(company)
Thank you for your good work on Carfax_(company). There is a cabal of IPvandals who want this article to be an advertisement, they continually insert their spamm links and remove any information critical of carfax. Recommend you add this article to your watchlist. Leafyplant 17:17, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
Your {{norationale}} image tagging
Thanks for finding and tagging so many images as not having a fair use rationale. However, in future could you instead use the template {{subst:nrd}} rather than {{norationale}}, as this sorts the image into a category according to the date you tagged it. Cheers, -Panser Born- (talk) 12:00, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Ecw logo.png
Thanks for uploading Image:Ecw logo.png. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. (ESkog)(Talk) 20:57, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

- Hi, sorry, I didn't realised you'd de-merged the text from another article. At least the Piggley Winks article no longer contains copyvio text. I don't know what happened to the URL, for the record, the text was taken from [1]. I'll remove the copyright boilerplate from your talk page since it it was someone else's mistake. Hope this is OK. Non-free use disputed for Image:Arach.png
This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:Arach.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. The Sunshine Man 16:20, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

Template:Swear
Speedy deletion is limited to the criteria listed at WP:CSD. Your tag of Template:Swear for speedy deletion is not within those criteria. Please list it at WP:TFD instead. Carlossuarez46
- I agree it should be deleted. That said, a single admin should not delete something unless it falls within the WP:CSD criteria. Except for BLP, Copyright, and baseline Notability, failure to comply with the numerous policies and guidelines (including biggies like WP:V and WP:OR) are not grounds for deletion under speedy criteria. You should list it at WP:TFD instead. If you don't know how to do that, I'd be glad to do it for you. Carlossuarez46 17:40, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
Image:18_Wheeler_American_Pro_Trucker.jpg
I have tagged Image:18_Wheeler_American_Pro_Trucker.jpg as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. Thank you. Videmus Omnia Talk 01:37, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

AfD nomination of List of Filipino Americans
List of Filipino Americans, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that List of Filipino Americans satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Filipino Americans (2nd nomination) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of List of Filipino Americans during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Leuko 18:15, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
Didcaps
A Google search for "didcaps" returns very many sites hosting didcaps. However, I'm not sure if I can cite them as sources, because all they do is host didcaps to download and not actually give any information about the concept. Also, it could be seen like I was promoting the sites. JIP | Talk 08:19, 6 October 2007 (UTC)

I didn't think it could be done well, I really didn't think it was plausible. But damn, you did a really good job converting that roster section to prose. Great job, keep it up! Bmg916Speak 23:36, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

The Pro Wrestling Collaboration of the Week for November 11 - November 17 is World Wrestling Entertainment. Please help to improve it to match the quality of an ideal Wikipedia professional wrestling related article. The next article for collaboration will be chosen on Sunday, November 18. From the Editor
Welcome to the inaugural edition of the WikiProject Professional wrestling newsletter! I hope this will be a good source of news to those people interested in what's happening around our pro wrestlimg community. I plan to release it every Sunday. This newsletter will just be a way to get the community announcements to people who don't have the time to check the mesageboards, as well that to those just curious about the news. The newsleter will consist of a project news section (to do with what's happening on Wikipedia), and a current events section (relating to news in the "real world"). The newslette will also contain the Collaboration of the Week announcement. That's all. If you have any feedback or suggestions, please post them at this talk page.
