[edit] Southwestern Law School vs. Southwestern University School of Law

Just an FYI - Southwestern is moving towards using "Southwestern Law School", and the two wikipedia pages should be merged under that name (the "Southwestern University School of Law" link can remain but should forward to "Southwestern Law School"). As a reference for this change, you can contact Leslie Steinberg who is the Director of Public Information at the school, and she can confirm this (also, see the title of their website, www.swlaw.edu). http://www.swlaw.edu/contact/details/public_information_details/ —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 65.30.181.238 (talk) 22:19, 19 December 2006 (UTC).

The two articles are already merged; we merged them over a year ago on 1 November 2005. // JoshKagan Jrkagan | talk 23:21, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
Yes, but they were merged so that they are pointing to the wrong name for the school - they should both be pointing to "Southwestern Law School".—Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.30.181.238 (talk • contribs)
Ok, I understand now. Is this name change "completed," or is it just something we're "expecting" for the future? As far as I can tell, on all of the school's official literature (including law review) the school still calls itself Southwestern University School of Law. The change needs to be officially completed for us to change it in the encylopedia. But if you're absolutely positive that the name has changed, I suggest you bring it up on the talk page for the article. Then, if a consensus is reached that a title change is appropriate, you can make that change. // JoshKagan Jrkagan | talk 19:45, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
They are in the final stages of completing the renaming - as you can see from their website, the process is almost all complete. The school has also changed its ABA listing this year, for instance. I referenced the Director of Public Information who will be reviewing the wikipedia entry for accuracy. This name issue was just one of the more obvious items to be handled.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 65.30.181.238 (talk).
In case you're still monitoring this talk page, I'm curious: what are the other items "to be handled?" // JoshKagan Jrkagan | talk 03:28, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
