[edit] Creating Articles w/ Categories

Good work creating new articles. When you create things, it helps tremendously to assign them to an accurate category (see WP:CG for info). If you're really not sure about categories, at least assign your new articles a stub category (see WP:SC for info). By assigning a category, you help make sure your new articles don't get lost as 'orphans' that are not associated with related topics. Feco

[edit] Keiichi.net radio

The issue here is whether the radio station is notable enough to warrant having an article on Wikipedia, as per WP:WEB.

The suggested guideline for internet radio stations, from Articles for Deletion precedents: "Internet radio stations are notable if they can demonstrate a clear and verifiable cultural notability or influence. CBC Radio Three and WOXY, for instance, are clearly notable, but your own personal Peercast stream with three listeners may not be.".

There is nothing in Keiichi.net radio to suggest that it passes the above test, and in the absense of this I am inclined to propose the article for deletion.

Hynca-Hooley 23:23, 14 March 2006 (UTC)

In response to your comment, I've taken a look at the linked Japanese radio station articles, and they do not to me appear to pass the abovementioned notability test either. The reason Keiichi.net radio was picked up is because I opened it while new-pages patrolling; those pages are older. I think the best route would be to put all three through the AfD process and see what the community consensus is. Who knows, maybe a new precedent needs to be set! [edit]  :arn

This is a redirect page for Languages of Argentina to link to the Mapudungun version of wikipedia, but the template for the incubator automatically uses the articles name, so i used the standard template for a wikipedia version that is not an incubator and created a redirect link to link to the incubator so it would actually say TEST Mapudungun language version of wikipedia instead of Test Langauges of Argentina version of wikipedia at wikipedia incubator.Qrc2006 02:39, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

  • Thanks... should look more carefully next time. I support removing the speedy deletion. JRHorse 02:40, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

  • Per your question: Goodness no. If I did, I would have prod'ed it, or AfD'ed it myself. Per WP:SNOW, I left it alone. eaolson 05:06, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Eric D. Robinson

I don't see any reason to AfD it, really. It's pretty clearly an autobiography (in the Conflict-of-Interest sense) of a nonnotable individual, which makes his assertion that it's necessary for educational purposes rather dubious.

What's your feeling on it? Mytildebang 02:27, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

  • Kinda iffy, because yes... it appears to be... Eric D. Robinson writing the article. (See the name of the user creating the page). Truthfully I wanted to make a point by sending the article through AfD due to WP:BIO, then again, Wikipedia is not the place to do that. Better to leave it for the admins to check, then. Thanks! [edit] Kennedy Road (Toronto)

Dear JRHorse,

As you may notice, there are a lot of Kennedy Roads in all of Ontario. For example, there is one in Hamilton, Milton, Clearview, Caledon, Georgetown, Innisfil, York Region, Toronto, Welland, and Peel Region. (And those are just the ones in the Golden Horseshoe)

Can I ask you another question? Why would you want to put Kennedy Road, which in this case in Toronto, and move the page, renaming it as Kennedy Road (Ontario). Well, while other Kennedy Roads in other towns might be local roads, there is one Kennedy Road in Peel Region that is a major street.

Also, I appreciate your efforts and your experience in roads. Do you mind if I invite you to join WP:GHR? Click here for details.

[edit] Eighth-generation Video Game Console

Stop proposing deletion for my article. It is not acting as a "crystal ball", and it does not make any assumptions, it only states the obvious. Geez.

  • It's still a WAYS off into the future, and no notable, verifiable information exists to keep those articles at the moment. JRHorse 03:44, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] GTA Articles

I'm trying to make content on the GTA4.tv/forum members

  • Wikipedia is not a free home page. If you're looking to create pages on those members, this is not the place to do it. Sorry! JRHorse 04:03, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

Here I thought that Wikipedia was a foundation for knowledge. As per the credits of GTA: San Andreas, GTA4.tv was sited as the number one GTA Related site.

[edit] Help Keep An Article Neutral

Hello.

You've helped before with an article I have contributed to and now I'd like to ask for assistance again.

The article is:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chambers_stove

Here's the problem:

After much near-warfare, the user lowracer agreed to stop using the article to promote his website and forum on the subject. I also agreed to refrain from same - in short, we both agreed to keep the article website NEUTRAL.

Unbeknownst to me, he slipped a little hint on how to find his website in one of the last paragraph's some time ago. I found it yesterday when editing the article for better grammar, correct some technical info, etc. I revised the sentence in question (you can see the changes in the history tab), and made note of the reason for doing so. He came back and changed it back, claiming that I was trying to protect my busines by "whitewashing" the article, when, in reality, all I was doing was trying to work within the guidelines set forth by yourself and others and agreed to by us.

Can you help? This person is very antagonistic and difficult to deal with, and I'm not inclined to get into a rock throwing war with him - all I ask is that the article be kept neutral with regard to websites on the subject, links to them, or clear hints as to how to find them using, say Google, to search for them.

We need an authoritative word to stop this from escalating again.

Your help would be most appreciated.

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Nyralogo.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Nyralogo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 09:40, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Aplogo.PNG}

Thank you for uploading Image:Aplogo.PNG. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check:

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page.
