[edit] Lower Tie Bar
Please stop removing the dictdef tag from the article, Lower tie bar. I have opened a discussion on the article's talk page. Let's have some dialog about why it is or is not a dictionary definition and a candidate to be moved to Wiktionary. James084 21:12, 20 January 2006 (UTC)
- I agree, please leave it to discussion before removing a tag.--Oni Ookami AlfadorTalk|@ 05:52, 29 January 2006 (UTC)
- You have done this again I am taking this issue higher up.--Oni Ookami AlfadorTalk|@ 07:49, 29 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Oakleys
Please add the appropriate image tag to your oakleys image. If this was an image taken by you the appropriate tag might be {{PD-release}}. For other options, see Wikipedia:Image copyright tags--Oni Ookami AlfadorTalk|@ 05:48, 29 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] License tagging for Image:Alveolar duct.JPG
Thanks for uploading Image:Alveolar duct.JPG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Category:Official motorsport and performance division of automakers
Hi Jpogi. I notice that you recently added Scuderia Ferrari to Category:Official motorsport and performance division of automakers. Please give some consideration as to whether the other "manufacturer" F1 teams (BMW Sauber, Renault F1, Toyota F1 and Honda Racing F1) should also be added to the category. Personally, I'm not sure whether they should be added or not, since I'm not sure whether they count as divisions of the automakers. I'd be interested in your opinion. -- DH85868993 11:46, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
- I've been thinking a lot about whether or not to include Scuderia Ferrari in the category. I thought of it as a company division and not just a racing team like the other F1 racing teams; but I maybe wrong. I've based my idea on Renault Sport which is a company performance division and the Renault F1 which is only a racing team same asTRD and Toyota F1. If Scuderia Ferrari proved to be only a F1 racing team and not as a company division then we could take it off the category. But I think we could not include the other F1 teams because they cannot be considered a subsidiary of their parent companies. Or are they?.Jpogi 17:05, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:9 mm pistol.JPG
Thank you for uploading Image:9 mm pistol.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Strangerer (Talk) 05:19, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Dated cleanup tags
Hi, thanks for your message, SmackBot does not generally add tags, but merely dates those that are already there. Regards, Rich Farmbrough, 13:34 10 May 2007 (GMT).
[edit] Image:Survival knife.JPG
Hi. When you uploaded Image:Survival knife.JPG, you did not specify complete source and copyright information. Another user subsequently tagged it with {{GFDL-presumed}} and, for some time, it has existed on Wikipedia under the assumption that you created the image and you agreed to license it under the GFDL. This assumption, however well-meaning, is not legally sufficient and the tag is being phased out. Images using it are being deleted.
This image has been tagged for deletion and will be deleted in one week if adequate copyright information is not provided.
If you, personally, are the author of this content, meaning that you took the photograph yourself or you created the chart yourself (and it does not use any clipart that you did not create), please retag the image with a free image copyright tag that correctly describes your licensing intentions, usually {{GFDL-self}} or {{PD-self}}. Please also make sure if you have not already done so that you write a good description of what the image depicts, when you took the photo, and other important details. This will allow Wikipedia to continue using the image.
If you did not create the image or if it is derived from the copyrighted works of others, please keep in mind that most images on the internet are copyrighted and are not suitable for use on Wikipedia. Wikipedia respects the copyrights of others and does not use images unless we know that they have been freely licensed. Any creative work is automatically copyrighted, even if it lacks a copyright notice. Unless the copyright holder has specifically disclaimed their rights to the image and released it under the GFDL or another compatible license, we cannot use it. If you did not create the image, and cannot make the image compliant with Wikipedia:Non-free content, simply do nothing and it will be deleted in a week. All other non-free images must follow these rules.
Please feel free to contact me on my talk page or leave a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions with any questions you may have. Thank you. Aksibot 09:24, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Corpus albicans.JPG
Hello! Could you please transfer your image Corpus albicans.JPG to Wiki commons? I would do it, but I don't know if I can, because it's your image... It would be very nice if you did it, because i'd like to use it in the portugues article of corpus albicans ;) Thank you in advance! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.95.59.65 (talk) 15:25, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:L2_elf.JPG
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:L2_elf.JPG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? — pd_THOR | =/\= | 21:29, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Akamanah.JPG}
Thank you for uploading Image:Akamanah.JPG. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check:
-
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
- That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.
Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page.
