Oldest Active MLB Player
The oldest active Major League Baseball player is the oldest player in Major League Baseball at any point in time. For the purposes of this list, a player's status as active for a given year is considered in the following manner:
- If a player has played at least one game in both the previous and following years, the player is considered active for the whole of the current year.
- If a player has not played at least one game in the previous year, but has played at least one game in the following year, the player is considered active from the first game played in the current year through the end of the year.
- If a player has not played at least one game in the following year, but has played at least one game in the previous year, the player is considered active from the beginning of the current year through the last game played in the year.
- If a player has played in neither the previous nor the following year, the player is considered active from the first game played in the current year through the last game played in the current year.
