From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jpegx is a freeware application that allows users to hide messages in jpeg (.jpg, .jpeg) files. It is developed by nerdlogic.org.
Jpegx is for 32-bit Microsoft Windows systems.
It was first released on October 30, 2001, the original version 1.0.6 was deciphered by Guillermito.
"The author of this software was notified. He thanked me for my small analysis and wrote a more secure version 2, which he would like me to have a look at. Cheers to him! He understood that my goal is constructive criticism, a modest effort in order to raise the global level of security applications, not just poking fun at people."
Jpegx 2.0.3 had a password bypass vulnerability in its wizard.
The latest version, Jpegx 2.1.1, was released without a wizard.
