Jozef Kohut

Jozef Kohut plays as a forward in ice hockey, notably appearing for the Slovakian national junior team in 1993 and 1995 and being a draft pick for the Detroit Red Wings NHL outfit. After competing most of his career in the Slovakian 1st division and Extraliga, he was signed to the Guildford Flames in Great Britain in 2003, where he has played in both the British National League and the English Premier League. The first two years with the Flames were played in shirt number 28, which was subsequently changed to 38 at his request for the 05/06 season. His style of play is somewhat controversial with British fans, as some accuse him of "cheap shots" and illegal provocation, though no-one denies his goal scoring prowess. Despite injury restricting him to playing only 38 matches of the 05/06 season, he was still among the EPL's top ten points scorers. Once again injury restricted him to playing only 30 games for the Flames in 07/08, although this didn't stop him scoring 56 points. He currently sits at 10th in the Flames All-time points-scorers.

Jozef is married with a young daughter. He is 6'1" tall and 14 stone (89 kg), and, according to a Guildford Flames match programme, he likes ABBA, Elan and U2.
