After Mr. Squasher dismisses the class at the end of the school year, Vicki tells Lockie she will be going away to boarding school. Philip doesn't wet his bed the next day. Then Lockie hears more bad news, that Mum might not be coming back for Christmas. Sarge, Lockie and Philip take a visit to the hospital to see Mum. Monster starts up Christmas decorations on the house to surprise Barry. Egg hears that the Rev is sad that Egg's mum isn't with them, and he doesn't want to put on his annual Christmas rock play. Egg gets Lockie, the Sarge and Philip to help with the rock play. Then Barry joins. Lockie asks him if he could go to Vicki's house to get some rock albums that might help with the play as an excuse to talk to Vicki. Monster surprises Barry with the Christmas lights. Lockie gets to talk to Vicki. She says she wants to go to boarding school, and gets angry with Lockie. Lockie decides to leave a sherbet in Vicki's room so she would come to his house and return it. Mr. Squasher joins Rev's group. It is Christmas Eve and Philip hasn't wet the bed for days. Vicki comes back to return the sherbet, and says she doesn't like Lockie and her fighting. Lockie hugs Vicki, and thinks Mum is coming home, but the Sarge exclaims she isn't. The rock play starts. Lockie is helping Monster with the lighting and effects, but there is a power cut. It comes back on and Mr. Squasher sings a 50 Cent-style song. Lockie sits outside, and Vicki joins him. Lockie says he doesn't want her to go to boarding school. Vicki says she will talk to Barry about it. Lockie says he loves Vicki, and they kiss. It is Christmas, and Philip's bet-wetting is over. Lockie goes surfing, and sees Mum. He runs out to her. The whole family have a picnic, and it is exclaimed that it was the best Christmas ever.
