Journalist (real name: Orane, born August 22, 1987 in Portland, Jamaica) is a Wikipedia Administrator (since 2005) and Mediator emeritus (since 2006). He now lives in Canada and attends the University of Toronto. He loves reading, but has become lazy as of late and only reads when he has to. His favourite books are Escape to Last Man Peak (Jean D'Costa), which he first read at age 11, and Oryx and Crake (Margaret Atwood). Journalist is also passionate about music, and as a child wished to be a singer. His current favoutite song(s) (which changes frequently) is/are "When I Grow Up" by The Pussycat Dolls. His all-time favourite singers (with the artist's best song in parenthesis) are Amy Winehouse ("Back to Black," technically and lyrically the best song this decade), Michael Jackson ("Remember the Time" (the dance sequence beginning at 6:27 gives him goosebumps)), Mariah Carey ("Forever", Carey's best vocal performance), Celine Dion ("Dreamin' of You"), his overall favourite for personal reasons, and Beyoncé ("Dangerously In Love"); his favourite albums are Back to Black (Amy Wimehouse, 2006) and Falling into You (Celine Dion, 1996). He also loves dancing. He thinks that the dancing and choreography in this video is awesome. Orane has no qualms about admitting that his favorite movie is Titanic. He feels that the movie is overshadowed by criticims of it being melodramatic and a chick flick. But on the contrary, he loves the class and gender dynamics in the movie, and thought that the acting was very good. His other favourite movies are Children of Men and Citizen Kane. His hobbies include going to the gym, and going to the gym. He also loves writing, and is an Arts and Entertainment contributing editor for one of the newspapers at his college. Feel free to contact him for anything— even to just say hi. (See also his trophy case.)
