[edit] Background

As for the other songs of Elsa's debut album, the text was written by Georges Lunghini, the singer's father. The music was composed by Pierre Grosz and V.M. Bouvot.[1]

The song was also recorded in Italian-language ("Gli anni miei", 3:58) and Spanish-language ("Solo era un sueno", 4:02). All these versions are available on 1997 Elsa's best of Elsa, l'essentiel 1986-1993. Two remixed and extended versions, as well as two instrumental versions, feature on the various formats.

As the title lets it guess, the text is about the snow and the enjoyments that it brings. The music video was shot in the snow an the deprived secondary school "Les Chassagnes", in Oullins, France.

[edit] Chart performances

In France, the single was very successful, but didn't managed to disloged David Hallyday's "High" which topped the French Singles Chart then. The single went straight to #12 on November 26, 1988, and entered the top ten two weeks later, in which it stayed for 14 consecutive weeks. It peaked at #2 first on December 31, 1988, then on January 14, 1989. It left the chart after its 20th week of attendance, which was then the shortest single trajectory of the singer. Therefore, her first four singles reached number one or number two on the chart.[2]

In 1989, the single achieved Gold disc status by the SNEP for more than 500,000 sales.[3]
