Hey some of the dates on this page don't make sense. Ie: "He entered the United States Naval Academy in 1889 and graduated 4th in his class of 1886. He was commissioned as an Ensign in 1888 and promoted to Lieutenant junior grade in 1896." 4th in his high school class? if he entered the academy in 1889 then how can he be commissioned in 1888?

Good catch. I checked back with the original article and it says 1882, so I must have typoed it. Fixed now and the dates make more sense. (And it's his Navy Academy class, not high school.) JRP 04:24, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
