[edit] The Godfather — a reason for Colombo's assasination/assault?
The following was placed in the article history by User:149.68.7.92:
I didn't edit anything but, umm, he was assasinated because of his involvement with allowing Paramount to film The Godfather. Amazing that wasn't mentioned.
So I looked around and found out that something to this effect was also implied in the Colombo crime family article:
[...] Colombo set up the Italian-American Civil Rights League to defend Italian Americans from what he saw as prejudice at the hands of the law enforcement authorities. In an organisation that prided itself on keeping a low profile, the publicity Colombo brought on the mafia was decidedly unwelcome - through his involvement with the League, he was frequently to be found, willingly, on television and in the press, where a Mafia boss usually only finds himself when having to defend himself in court.
Emphasis mine. Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything to corroborate the claim in question. An expert is needed. --jibun≈παντα ρει≈ (keskustele!) 01:21, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
