[edit] Merge to Repair Copy-and-Paste title change
[edit] Why we Never have two equivalent articles with different titles on the same topic
Lots of people are known by more than one name, but a bio covers the person, not the name, and people looking under a name other than the one chosen for the single bio on that person can be automatically redirected to it by a mechanism called, uh, a Redirect, such as Zé Roberto (José Gomes Santana) will be after i finish the merge. One article and a set of redirects to it means only one place to maintain and improve the article, all readers finding the same info, and no one scratching their head about why the person's bio is not as they remember seeing it earlier in the day, and why the history says nothing has been changed.
As to choice of names, see Wikipedia:Naming conventions (common names). (And in general, refer to WP:MOS for questions like this; it will lead you to the specific page you need.)

[edit] Toward the right title for this bio
Zé Roberto (José Gomes Santana) is a bad title for at least two reasons:
- It's longer than it needs to be.
- It's confusing bcz even tho it has the appropriate structure for a WP Disambiguated personal name, it what might appear in text, e.g. about Englebert Humperdinck (singer),
-
- Engelbert Humperdinck (Arnold George Dorsey)
- (which is in fact a fragment of the (non-WP:MOSDAB-conforming) Dab Englebert Humperdinck).
-
- Admittedly, it apparently conforms to the principle that (my wording) an obscure contender for an article title doesn't force a predominant one out of the "position" of using the title w/o a disambiguation suffix. Nevertheless, using Zé Roberto as one Brazilian midfielder's bio's title, when another Brazilian midfielder also uses it creates a struggle against the expectation that such a duplication of names within the same are of interest just won't be permitted to happen. (Nat King Cole, Duke Ellington, and Count Basie suggest the idea that there are always enough unique names available, and that it's worth people's while to find them rather than duplicate. For this reason, my preference would be to move Zé Roberto to Zé Roberto (da Silva) or even Zé Roberto (Silva), and either leave José Gomes-Santana where it is or move it to Zé Roberto (Gomes-Santana) (if only the ignorant or socially inept would refer to him, even after having used the full name, by either "Gomes" or "Santana") Zé Roberto (Gomes) or Zé Roberto (Santana): even in the worst case there's no reason for the bulky 5-word title. Bottom line, there should be a discussion with editors interested in the existing Zé Roberto, preferably at talk:Zé Roberto and initiated (not by me but)
and initiatedby editors interested in this one. It's goal would be to settle on a scheme applicable only to these two articles, that you-all, but more importantly the reader, can live with.
