Josip Zemko

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Josip Zemko (born March 13, 1946 in Sarajevo) is a former Yugoslav football player.

His career began in FK Željezničar youth squad. He was one of the best Yugoslav defenders in the 1960s. His goal was to take care of most dangerous players from the opposite team. In 1963, he started playing for the first team and very soon he became a candidate for the Yugoslav national team. He had collected three caps before he broke a leg in 1966. Unfortunatelly, he has never managed to reach the same level of play he was showing before the injury. Later he moved to FK Vojvodina and he also played for some other clubs.

He is working as a coach in Serbia.
