Joshua Penny

Joshua Hudson Penny (1856-1902) was a first class cricketer who played one match for Yorkshire County Cricket Club against W.G. Grace's Gloucestershire CCC in Bristol in 1891. A slow let arm orthodox spinner, he took 1 for 24 and 1 for seven and scored 8* as Yorkshire won the match by an innings and 40 runs thanks to 12 wickets by fellow slow left armer Bobby Peel. He also appeared for Yorkshire in a non first class match against Derbyshire CCC at the County Ground, Derby. He took 1 for 20 and 2 for 38 and scored 2 runs in the drawn game.

He was born on September 29, 1856 in Yeadon, Yorkshire and died on July 29, 1902 in Savile Town, Dewsbury.
