Joshua Lauren Alba (born July 8, 1982) is an American actor. He is best known for his role as Krit on the television series Dark Angel. He is the younger brother of actress Jessica Alba.

[edit] Early life
Alba was born in Biloxi, Mississippi, the son of Catherine (née Jensen) and Mark Alba. His mother is of Danish descent on his father's side and French ancestry on his mother's, and Alba's father is Mexican American (though both of his parents were born in California).[1] Alba's parents married in their teenage years.[2][3][4] His maternal grandfather was a Marine NCO for 30 years, serving in the Pacific during WWII, and later as Assistant Drum Major for the United States Marine Band. Alba was raised in an Air Force family with his sister, Jessica and his grandparents. His father's air force career took the family to Biloxi, Mississippi, and Del Rio, Texas before settling back in California.

Alba began his acting career at the age of 18 when he got cast, alongside his sister Jessica Alba in the season 1 finale of the cyberpunk science fiction television series Dark Angel as Krit.[5] After his first acting job, he pursued acting with a passion and took classes for a year and a half. He later starred in an episode of The Division. He made a cameo appearance in an episode of Monk as the first student. Alba finally made his big screen debut in a small role in Alpha Dog. In 2006, Alba picked up his first starring role in the independent horror film Unrest, which was shown at the International Horror and Sci-Fi Film Festival's 8 Films To Die For during the fall season. His movie Unrest was released by 500 theaters nationwide through the weekend of November 17, 2006. His other film credits include The Dead Undead, Chinaman's Chance and more recently, he's preparing for upcoming roles for Hyenas, Fast Glass and Creative Differences.

Alba has been married to Nikki Leigh Alba since July 26, 2003 and has a child with her. He loves to play golf and has modeled for Skechers. He is the second cousin to "skateboarding legend" Steve "Salba" Alba.
He is 6'2" (1.88 m) tall and an avid New England Patriots fan.
