Joshi (director)

Joshi or Joshy Mathew [1] is a noted film director in Malayalam cinema [2] [3], most known for his 'family-action' films, including, New Delhi, Nirakkoottu, Nair Saab, Sandarbham, Muhoortham Pathinonnu Muppathinu, Kauravar, Dhruvam, Number Twenty Madras Mail [4]

His most recent work is the 2008 film, Twenty:20 and a notable film, Muhoortham Pathinonnu Muppathinu [4] and Naran (2005).

Joshi hails from Varkala, in Thiruvananthapuram district, where his family ran movie-houses. He has done 63 films so far, starting with Tiger Salim (1978) [1]. He is known for directing action movies, like New Delhi, thrillers, like Sangham, and has also mad ethe costliest Malyalam movie ever made, Dubai.

He was also the Chairman of MACTA (Malayalam Cine Technicians Association).
