[edit] Season 1

Josh and his sister, Lori are very skeptical about Kyle coming to live with them. They immediately protest, but Stephen insists that if their mother, Nicole wants Kyle coming he is coming. When Josh returns from summer school, he goes to the bathroom to look at a pornographic magazine. However, an afraid Kyle is in the bathtub while Josh is there. When Josh catches sight of Kyle, he runs out of the bathroom and throws his magazine. Nicole grabs it and punishes Josh by taking it away. She also informs him that Kyle will be staying in his room. At dinner that night, Kyle speaks for the first time (Yo! Let's get some juice down here!) which prompts much excitement from Josh. While attempting to sleep, Josh confides to Kyle how much he misses Charlotte, the nude model from his magazine. The following day, Josh accompanies Kyle and Nicole to her office where they test Kyle's IQ. Josh tells Nicole that her hour long test only took Kyle five minutes and he got all the answers correct. They then take Kyle to get an MRI. The results are amazing, 80% brain activity, but the radiologists believe that it is just machine failure. Josh does not agree. The next day, Josh enters his room to find his magazine back on his bed. He goes to find Kyle to ask him if he did this. Kyle states that he did. Josh realizes he has found a brother figure and begins to play basketball with Kyle. The next week, the entire Trager family is awoken by Kyle who raided the refrigerator for food. Kyle also had turned on a Kung Fu movie and memorized a line in Chinese ("The time has come to fight the dragon!"). Josh is amazed by this, but Kyle explains that he hadn't slept the entire time that he had lived with the Tragers. Whilst Kyle is living with the Tragers, Josh keeps a record of all the unusual, or somewhat supernatural, behaviour which Kyle displays in a small notebook ("Kyle File") which he takes out on several occasions through the first season, thus concluding that he believes Kyle is an alien, Kyle dismisses Josh's theories and continues to ignore them until Kyle shouts at Josh asking him how he thinks he feels that Josh thinks he is an alien.

[edit] Season 2

Josh has stopped his boyish ways from season 1, and starts maturing a little. He gets a car (courtesy of Kyle) and meets a girl- Andy Jensen. Their first encounter is in 2.3 in the boys bathroom, where Andy says is the best internet reception for her favorite game, G-Force (which is also Josh's favorite game.) When he finds out that she is the player who keeps beating him, he is in shock.

In episode 2.4 Andy matches girls to cars for Josh, since he is wondering what kind of car gets him a girl. At the end of the episode, Andy gives Josh fuzzy dice for his birthday, and they climb into his new, junker car. When asked what kind of girl he could get, Andy responds with, "The kind who appreciates potential." Josh is then shown smiling to himself.

In episode 2.6, Andy date trains Josh because he has absolutely no idea how to act around girls. She shows him how to dress, what to say, how to not look at a girls breasts, basically everything he needs to impress his date, a girl named Dava Avina. When they are sitting in the car, Andy tells Josh to practice making a move on her. Josh claps a hand on her thigh, and they both are embarrassed. Later, Stephen talks with Josh about his first date with his mother and says his foot kept tapping. At the end of the episode, Dava ends up blowing Josh off and he goes on his date with Andy. All throughout the date, his foot doesn't stop tapping, just like his father with his mother.

In episode 2.7 Josh confronts Andy about wanting to ask him to the Spring Fling Dance, and Andy gives his ego yet another blow by telling him she has multiple dates. Andy plans a dance where "Anyone can come, no matter who their date is," in response to their principal's "no same sex couple" rules. At the dance Josh goes out back to where Andy is, holding her head in her hands. She confronts him about being homophobic, and flounces back into The Rack. At the end of the episode, Josh gets mad at Andy for always putting him down. As an apology, she kisses him on the cheek before running out. Josh is then shown touching his cheek, a little shocked.

In episode 2.9, Ghost in the machine, Josh tells Kyle he likes Andy. When everyone goes underground, he and Andy remain alone and he attempts to flirt with her. She is strangly sharp and a little bitter. When they're alone in the car together Josh tells Andy about his crush on her at the same time she tells him her secret- She has cancer. At the end of the night when they are in the back of The Rack, she tells him not to tell anyone and walks off, eyes teary.

In episode 2.10, House of Cards, Andy tell Josh he can't even talk to her about the cancer (he was saying that popsicles help with chemotherapy). He goes to his mom for advice and she says to just be there for Andy. At the end of the episode, she tells him she needs lots of chemo because her cancer is bad now. He runs off and she looks ready to cry. Then he comes back with two cherry popsicles. Then they start playing G-Force together and Andy starts laughing, full of life again.

In Episode 2.11, Hands on a Hybrid, Josh tries to win a car. We later find out hes trying to win it for Andy. Andy finds out that Josh cheated his way into the contest, gets hysterical, and reveals she has cancer in front of everyone. Josh, upset, drops out of the contest and runs after her. Later, Andy revealed that she has a shirt that says cancer girl on it. She also got a shirt for Josh that says "I'm with cancer girl". Josh kisses Andy on the cheek. Andy says "Umm, that's not how you do it," and kisses him.

In Episode 2.12, Lockdown, Andy tells Josh that it'll be their last day together because she will start chemotherapy tomorrow. In her plans to make their last day special, they go upstairs to make out. In the middle of kissing, Andy asks Josh why he hasn't tried anything. When he mutters something about being respectful, she encourages him to feel her up, opening her shirt for him. He tells her that he doesn't want this to be their last day together and he tells her to find someone else to feel her up, walking out of his room. At the end of the episode, a fully-clothed Andy comes downstairs and tells Josh that she will continue to be here. They end up snuggling on the couch.

In the season finale, Josh is afraid Andy wants to have sex. Andy, however, tells him that is not what she wants at the moment.
