Josh Rand is the guitarist in the Heavy Metal band Stone Sour. Although he mostly takes on the role of rhythm guitarist, he sometimes trades places with lead guitarist Jim Root, most notably on the single Get Inside.

Rand is also well-known for his unique harmonizing, as can be heard on Get Inside and Hell & Consequences. Rand utilizes his Digitech Whammy to harmonize major thirds and perfect fourths, instead of major thirds and minor thirds.

  • During the recording of Come What(ever) May, Josh ran 5 miles every day to clear his head before facing the creative atmosphere of the recording studio.
  • Rand also stated in an interview with Kerrang! magazine that it would be "beyond his dreams" for Stone Sour to break into the world mainstream but somehow think's it "just can't happen".
