Josh Harris (artist)

Josh Harris is an American dance musician best known for his remixes of various pop musicians and other dance artists.

Harris was born in St. Louis, Missouri and grew up in an area called the Central West End near Forrest Park, where he started to take lessons in classical piano at the age of six. Around the time he was twelve or thirteen years old he became interested in synthesizers. Harris holds a Bachelor of Arts in music, with an emphasis in theory and composition from Lawrence University, Appleton, Wisconsin. After graduating from college, Harris spent some time in Chicago, Illinois, before he moved to Nashville, Tennessee where he worked with various musicians. In Nashville he worked with singer Kristy Kay on her 2001 release, 'Who's That loving You Now?' (Universal). He met New York producer, Doug Beck in late 1999, and through him, his future partner in The Passengerz, Omar Galeano. After setting up studio space in March of 2001 with Omar in Ernie Lake's Reel Tyme Studios, he met Mike Rizzo, for whom he worked as an engineer. In 2005 his remix of Georgie Porgie's "Sunshine" went to number one on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart in the United States.
