Joshua Hansen (born January 16, 1982) is an American soccer forward who currently plays for the Puerto Rico Islanders in the USL First Division.
On August 30, 2006, Hansen was signed by the Los Angeles Galaxy from the Southern California Seahorses of the Premier Development League, a Christian amateur team for whom he scored 8 goals in 15 matches during 2006.[1] Hansen had appeared and scored a goal as a guest player for the Galaxy reserves in a game against the Rapids reserves earlier in the same month.[2]
Hansen spent 2005 with the championship-winning Seattle Sounders of the USL First Division, though he saw little playing time. Prior to joining the Sounders, Hansen played for the University of San Francisco, where he won several honors and his exploits included a hat-trick against Saint Mary's College.[3]
According to an evaluation issued after the 2005 InfoSport Pro Soccer Combine - a scouting showcase event similar to an NFL combine and involving players whose likely initial destination is the USL rather than MLS - Hansen is a strong technical dribbler and has a nose for goal. [4]
During the 2007 pre-season, Hansen was waived by the Galaxy, and was subsequently signed by the California Victory. He was then transferred to Vancouver Whitecaps FC during the 2007 season.
Hansen was waived by the Whitecaps in January 2008[5], and is currently unattached.
