Joseph Whitwell

Joseph Fry Whitwell was a first class cricketer who played one match for Yorkshire County Cricket Club against Nottinghamshire CCC at Trent Bridge in 1890. A right handed batsman, he scored 4 in both innings and took one wicket for 11, William Scotton bowled for 20, with his right arm medium pace. He also played for Durham from 1895 to 1902 and was Durham Club Captain from 1899 to 1902.

He was born on February 22, 1869 in Saltburn-by-the-Sea, Yorkshire and died on November 6, 1932 in Langbaurgh Hall, Great Ayton, Yorkshire. His brother, William Whitwell, played 10 matches for Yorkshire.
