Joseph Schoeninger is an Austrian born author, speaker, promotor, producer and filmmaker.

[edit] Biography
Joseph Schoeninger was first published in local newspapers in his native country Austria, when several poems and short stories won him acclaimed youth author awards in the 1980s. Joseph held his first public reading near the city of Graz at age 15. After finishing high school he studied Journalism and [Communication studies] in Vienna and was soon hired by ORF, the national public broadcaster, and became one of the country's youngest radio news host in the 90s.
Schoeninger then moved on to work in the growing European Extreme sports scenes. He became the first European professional commentator of the World Championship Events of International Snowboarding Federation, the Air & Style and action sports special events. He was signed by Eurosport to host its action sports programs, such as X-Games and ASP World Tour.
In 2000 Schoeninger founded and executive produced the world's first Extreme sports awards show. Entitled The Nea Awards, the stage was set in Munich to honour excellence in categories such as Surfing, Snowboarding, Skateboarding, Freeskiing, Freestyle Motocross. Attendees and winners included 8-times surfing world champion Kelly Slater, pro surfer Taj Burrow, skateboarding legends Tony Hawk and Bob Burnquist, windsurfing world champions Robby Naish and Bjoern Dunkerbeck, X-Games champions Shaun Palmer and Mike Metzger and sports celebrities Jeff Hakman and Malia Jones.
The Nea Awards are credited to have paved the way for action sports programs in European television and to have helped attracting mainstream media to a former niche youth market.
Schoeninger created and produced media formats, films and special events for MTV,Red Bull,55dsl, Oakley,Siemens and RTL Television.

Schoeninger is the author of Osteopathic medicine - surfing the body, published 2007 in German speaking markets. It features osteopathic treatments for worldclass athletes and active people, and includes chapters about Nutrition, Organic movement and a self-treatment program called Surfing the body.
Schoeninger runs a production company called Beautiful Days.
