From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Joseph Marshall III (1946?-) is a Lakota Sioux educator and writer. He was born on the Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota, and he writes mainly historical fiction about events in Lagota history. His work has been criticized as lacking literary complexity and relying too heavily on oral tradition, but it is also praised for its intimate presentation of Lakota culture (Kratzert 1998).
