JOSEPH LOMONACO was a highly decorated World War 2 Soldier, serving in Italy, when he was struck by a Sniper's rifle shot. Wounded by a freak wound, the projectile penetrated his thorax without stricking one vital organ, and exited his right shoulder blade. He was the recipient of the Silver Star, two Bronze Star Medals of Valor and the Purple Heart, all three achieve during the Italian Campaign. He passed away in California in 2003 at the age of 82.
