Joseph L. Epps (16 May 1870 in Jamestown, Missouri – 20 June 1952, Oklahoma was a United States Army private awarded the Medal of Honor for actions on 4 December 1899 during the Philippine-American War.
Private Epps is buried in Green Hill Cemetery, Muskogee, Oklahoma.[1]

Rank and Organization: Private, Company B, 33d Infantry, U.S. Volunteers. Place and Date: At Vigan Luzon, Philippine Islands, 4 December 1899. Entered Service At: Oklahoma Indian Territory. Birth: Jamestown, Mo. Date of Issue: 7 February 1902.
Citation:
- Discovered a party of insurgents inside a wall, climbed to the top of the wall, covered them with his gun, and forced them to stack arms and surrender.[2]
