Joseph Burke born 1947 is a Canadian Christian Brother.

Several Brothers left Newfoundland and went to teach at St. Thomas More Collegiate in British Columbia. These included Burke, as well as Edward English, Edward French, and Kevin Short[1].[verification needed]
The subsequent lawsuits[2] by the Mount Cashel victims against the Christian Brothers organization threatened to close STMC in 2004[3]. The story received considerable press coverage and was covered as widely as in Pakistan[4].
