Joseph Blowick

Joseph Blowick (13 March 190312 August 1970) was a senior Irish politician. He was first elected to Dáil Éireann in 1943 as a Clann na Talmhan TD for Mayo. He succeeded Michael Donnellan as leader of the party in 1944. Blowick was appointed to the Cabinet in the two Inter-Party governments, serving under John A. Costello as Minister for Lands on both occasions. His performance in government is held in high regard. The cigar-smoking Blowick was elected to Dáil Éireann at every election until 1965 when he retired from politics.
