Joseph Böhm

Joseph Böhm (1795-1876) was a violinist and teacher.

He was born in Pest. He was taught by his father and by Pierre Rode.

He was Professor at the Vienna Conservatory from 1819 to 1848, where he taught among others Jenő Hubay, Joseph Joachim, Heinrich Wilhelm Ernst, Jakob Dont, Jakob Grün, Sigismund Bachrich.

He had a working relationship with Ludwig van Beethoven, being a member of the string quartet, which premiered Beethoven's 12th String Quartet.
