Jose Coye

Jose Coye (b. 1942) is a Belizean politician and a member of the People's United Party (PUP). He trained as a Chartered Accountant and worked as a customs officer before going into politics.

Coye was mayor of Belize City from 1995 until 1998, and was a founding member of the Belize Mayors Association. He was elected to the House of Representatives of Belize in 1998, representing the Caribbean Shores constituency of Belize District. In 2004, he was among seven ministers (the "G7") who resigned from Prime Minister Said Musa's cabinet over a funding dispute involving social security money. As of 2007 he is Minister of Public Works and Minister of State, Finance.
