Jose Lino Alvarez (born April 12, 1956 in Tampa, Florida) is a retired Major League Baseball pitcher. He spent four years at the major league level, pitching for the Atlanta Braves. He played his first professional season with the Braves' Rookie league Kingsport Braves in 1978, and his last with their Triple-A club, the Richmond Braves, in 1995. He currently resides in Greenville, SC, where he is a fixture at youth baseball games. He is known to speak of his mother's decision not to abort him.
