José Vítor Moreira Semedo (born on January 11, 1985, in Setúbal), better known as José Semedo is a Portuguese football player currently playing for English team Charlton Athletic. He is one of many products of Sporting's youth system.

[edit] Club career

Semedo played his first and only game for Cagliari at Coppa Italia, he also made his Serie A debut against A.C. Milan in April 2007.

In 2007, Semedo signed a four-year deal with Charlton Athletic on a free transfer. Although touted as a defender when he signed, he has since played for Charlton in the defensive midfield position.

[edit] International career

Semedo also represented the Portuguese national under-21 team during the UEFA Under-21 Championship 2006. In the only match he played, he was sent off by the referee, due to an aggressive foul and the Portugal side ended up losing the game against Serbia and Montenegro. Semedo also played four times at the 2007 Under-21 Championship.
