His Most Reverend Eminence Dom José Sebastião Cardinal de Almeida Neto (8 February 1841 - 7 December 1920) was a Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church and was former Patriarch of Lisbon.
José Sebastião de Almeida Neto was born in Lagos, Portugal. He was educated at the Seminary of Faro ad he received the (now abolished) sudiaconate on 20 September 1862 and the diaconate on 21 May 1864.

He was ordained on 1 April 1865. He worked in the parish church of Saint Sebastian until 1879.

He was appointed as Bishop of Angola and the Congo on 22 September 1879 by Pope Leo XIII. He was promoted to the patriarchal see of Lisbon on 9 August 1883.

He was created and proclaimed Cardinal-Priest of Ss. XII Apostoli in the consistory of 24 March 1884. He participated in the conclave of 1903 that elected Pope Pius X.He resigned pastoral government of patriarchate in November 1907 and retired to a convent. Due to the religious persecution, was expelled from Portugal in October 1910 and went to live in the Franciscan convent of Loreto, Seville, Spain. He participated in the conclave of 1914 that elected Pope Benedict XV. He died in 1920 in Villarino, near Seville, Spain. He is buried in the tomb of the bishops of Tuy, Galicia.
