The José Rafael Revenga Municipality is one of the 18 municipalities (municipios) that makes up the Venezuelan state of Aragua and, according to a 2007 population estimate by the National Institute of Statistics of Venezuela, the municipality has a population of 49,593.[1] The town of El Consejo is the shire town of the José Rafael Revenga Municipality.[2]

The José Rafael Revenga Municipality, according to a 2007 population estimate by the National Institute of Statistics of Venezuela, has a population of 49,593 (up from 43,513 in 2000). This amounts to 3% of the state's population.[3] The municipality's population density is 415.7 people per square mile (258.3/km²).[4]

The mayor of the José Rafael Revenga Municipality is Juan Pablo Perdomo Piñero, re-elected on October 31, 2004 with 49% of the vote.[5][6] The municipality is divided into one parish; Capital José Rafael Revenga.[7]
