Secreto Eterno (Leon Ardoff, Trans.)
If I only could explain, beloved, my suffering and pain, beloved;
But there is nothing to console me to relieve my aching heart
'Tis a Secret Eternal that's always with me, in my love for you
For I get delirious when even thinking how I adore you.
Oh! my love, if I only could tell you the secret of my heart's yearning
My soul is burning for you Oh! just one kiss of love.
In my dreams I can see you in all your beauty, in all your splendor
My poor heart starts beating and I must tell you that I surrender;
But my darling, my words on my lips, I feel are suddenly dying,
My heart defying, my blood runs cold, my love secret's untold.
What a cruel life this has been for me, my love has chosen to ignore me.
All disappointing disillusions gnawing at my aching heart.
