José Name Terán

José Antonio Name Terán is a Colombian politician and lawyer, he has been elected deputy for the Department Assembly of Atlántico, representative of Chamber of Representatives of Colombia for the period of 1974-1978 and has served as senator of Colombia since 1978. He also served a term as Minister of Labor. He is considered a political caudillo by the Colombian media, with a strong political base in the Atlántico Department.[1] In 2007 Name-Teran postulated his name for the Governorship of Atlantico Department during the Colombian regional elections representing the Party of the U against Eduardo Verano De la Rosa, losing. He obtained 213,270 votes (28.76% of the total) against Verano's 344,112 votes (46.41% of total).[2]
