José Arnulfo Montiel Nunez (born August 19, 1988 in Asunción) is a Paraguayan football midfielder, who currently plays for Reggina of Italian Serie A.
At a very young age, Montiel started his career in his hometown team Olimpia de Itá (which is a division of Olimpia Asunción for the football league of the city of Itauguá). Scouts from Olimpia Asunción noticed his talent and signed him to the youth divisions of the Asunción club. Montiel was a key part of the Paraguayan national under-15 team that won the U-15 South American Championship in 2004.
His professional debut was playing for Olimpia Asunción late in 2004, at the age of 16. His excellent vision and skills secured him a place in the first team and eventually, in 2005, he made the Paraguay national football team squad at the age of 17.
After the 2006 World Cup he joined Udinese Calcio.
