José Miguel Contreras

José Miguel Contreras is a Canadian rock vocalist and guitarist, who performs as the lead vocalist for the indie rock band By Divine Right. He is usually credited by his full name, so as to avoid any potential confusion with baseball pitcher José Contreras.

In the mid-2000s, after self-producing By Divine Right's Sweet Confusion album, Contreras began producing and mixing albums for other Toronto-based artists, including The Meligrove Band, SS Cardiacs, Spitfires & Mayflowers, The Bicycles and Lily Frost, to whom he is married.
