José Manuel "El Moyo" Contreras (born 19 January 1986) is a Guatemalan football midfielder who plays for local club Comunicaciones in the Guatemala's top division. He is also a member of the Guatemalan national team. He scored in the match versus El Salvador in the 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup. His debut match for the Guatemala senior side was against Haiti in august of 2006, where he also setup an assist to Mario Rodriguez in the 1-1 draw.
Recently Contreras played for the U-23 national team of Guatemala in a qualification to the 2008 beijing olympics, in which he led the team to a 1-0 victory against Haiti and an upseting 2-1 victory against Mexico. The Guatemala national team ended group stage in first spot and claimed a semifinal against Honduras in which they came short and fell in penalties 6-5. After playing brilliantly throughout the tournament he was named one of the "eleven best" in the tournament alongside teammate Carlos Castrillo. Recently Contreras signed with Promoter Cysterpiller who will promote him to play in Argentina or Mexico, Contacts have been made with Coach Miguel angel Brindisi so he can play for Atlas
