José Luis López Ramírez (born March 31, 1981) is a Costa Rican soccer player who currently plays as midfielder for Deportivo Saprissa.
Commonly known as "Pupy", he has been an important player for the Costa Rica national football team at numerous levels, playing in the under 20 2001 FIFA World Youth Championship held in Argentina, as well as representing the country with the U-23 team at the 2004 Summer Olympics. He has also been capped for the full national team, playing for the team during 2006 FIFA World Cup Qualifying.
With Saprissa he has already won two national championships, a UNCAF Cup and a CONCACAF Champions Cup title, in less than three years, and was part of the team that played the 2005 FIFA Club World Championship Toyota Cup, where Saprissa finished third behind São Paulo Futebol Clube and Liverpool F.C.
Reports indicate that he will be moving to Australian club Melbourne Victory in June 2008, and reports have been confirmed in the Costa Rican media that he will join the club, yet there has been no mention of this signing in the Australian media so far[1]
