He won the titles of National Champion for the seasons of 1967/68, 1968/69, 1970/71, 1971/72, 1972/73, 1974/75, 1975/76 and 1976/77, and the Cup of Portugal, for 1969, 1970 and 1972. It would also be Eusébio's farewell to the National Team. He have to face the rivality of another great goalkeeper, Vítor Damas, which explains he didn't have more caps for the National Team.
The peak of his international career was at the Independence Cup of Brazil, in 1972, where he played in all the games for Portugal, that finally lost the final to Brazil, by 0-1.
