Admiral José Baptista Pinheiro de Azevedo, GCL (pronounced [ʒuˈzɛ baˈtiʃtɐ piˈɲɐiɾu dɨ ɐzɨˈvedu]; Luanda, June 5, 1917 - August 10, 1983) was a Portuguese political figure, reformer and revolutionary. He helped overthrow Marcelo Caetano in 1974. He served as the prime minister of Portugal between 19 September 1975 and 23 July 1976. He unsuccessfully contested the 1976 Presidential Election.

He was one of the accused by Oswald LeWinter of being part of the weapons traffic affair which potential uncover eventually led to the death of Francisco de Sá Carneiro and Adelino Amaro da Costa.[citation needed]
