José Azueta, Guerrero

José Azueta is a municipality located on the Pacific coast in the western part of the state of Guerrero in Mexico. It includes the major resort communities of Zihuatanejo and Ixtapa in addition to numerous other towns. At the 2005 census it had a population of 104,609 inhabitants. It has an area of 1,921.5 km² (741.9 sq mi). Its municipal seat is the city of Zihuatanejo. Its current (2005-2008) municipal president is Silvano Blanco Deaquino.
