José Antonio Patlán Valtierra (born January 12, 1983) is a Mexican Football player who is currently playing for Chivas de Guadalajara, and he plays as a Centre Back and as a Defensive Midfielder.
He debuted in a match against Club Toluca in April 29, 2006, Toluca won the match 2-0 [1]. He got the chance to play in the Clausura 2006, when Chivas lost 6 of their starting players to the Mexican National Team (Oswaldo Sanchez, Gonzalo Pineda, Ramon Morales, Omar Bravo, Francisco Javier Rodriguez and Carlos Salcido) already in training for the FIFA World Cup 2006. Chivas was already qualified for the playoffs of the tournament and was also playing in Copa Libertadores, so the team started to play with young players for the Clausura 2006 playoffs and the more experimented for the Libertadores. Patlan was one of the most praised players by the media.
