[edit] Welcome to Wikipedia!
Dear Jorgieporgie,
Welcome to Wikipedia, a free and open-content encyclopedia. I hope you enjoy contributing. To help get you settled in, I thought you might find the following pages useful:
- Five Pillars of Wikipedia
- Community Portal
- Frequently Asked Questions
- How to edit a page
- How to revert to a previous version of a page
- Tutorial
- Copyrights
- Shortcuts
If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}}
on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions.
If you are unsure of how to do something, you are welcome to ask a more experienced user such as an administrator.
One last bit of advice: please sign any discussion comment with two hyphens followed by four tildes --~~~~
. The software that runs Wikipedia will automatically convert this into a signature which contains your username and the date and time you posted the message, so other users don't get confused.
I hope I have not overwhelmed you with information. If you need any help just let me know. Once again welcome to Wikipedia, and don't forget to tell us about yourself on your userpage, you should start by adding {{User:PEAR/welcomed}}
to your userpage.

[edit] Newton Earp
I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Newton Earp, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree, discuss the issues raised at Talk:Newton Earp. If you remove the {{dated prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. I'll work to improve it. There is no reason to delete it, as it is associated with Wyatt Earp, Virgil Earp, Morgan Earp, etc..It's a good article, it can be made better. Like so many articles, it's a work in progress, and deserves the chance to be expanded. I've seen many more less relevant and less accurate articles than that one.
[edit] Your edit to Maurice L. Britt
Your recent edit to Maurice L. Britt (diff) was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to recognize and repair vandalism to Wikipedia articles. If the bot reverted a legitimate edit, please accept my humble creator's apologies – if you bring it to the attention of the bot's owner, we may be able to improve its behavior. No, it was my stupid mistake. I didn't search Wikipedia prior to creating the Maurice L. Britt page, not realizing Maurice Britt was already on Wikipedia. I simply went with Maurice L. Britt, instead of searching it under Maurice Britt. A rookie mistake I shouldn't have made. I then went about trying to repair it. I do apologize for any inconvenience. I usually don't screw up like that.
