[edit] Baguio

Jordz. I'm sorry to disappoint you but this is a local term and not part of the English language, unclassunless you consider the definition under the name of the City. Only words that have made it into the English language such as Carabao, Boondocks etc. and are notable can be considered as articles in the English wikipedia.--Jondel 11:17, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

Jordz, mainstream Filipinos don't accept baguio (sic) as storm or typhoon. Do your (Filipinos) friends recognize this term. The term that is recognized is bagyo. --Jondel 07:11, 12 July 2006 (UTC)

  • Hi Jondel, my main point here is that baguio is the de facto spelling in English for the Filipino term "bagyo". That is the spelling used the world over. This fact is supported by the links I have given before. Actually, I also wish that the accepted Filipino spelling "bagyo" should be used rather than the English one, but I can't find any document/reference to that end. As to the english term being deprecated by mainstream Filipinos, I have doubts on that claim. Jordz 05:48, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Poll

Please express your opinon at Baguio.--Jondel 09:39, 15 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] MonstersGame sandbox

The sandbox is now buried as the editors of browser-based game is/are quite hard-headed

[edit] MonstersGame comments

I'm no admin, but I thought you would appreciate some input on this matter to help you bring the proposed article up to articlespace quality:

  • Currently, there are no references. Without references to allow people to verify the claims, this appears to be original research. Note that the game's own website is a primary source, which we need another secondary source to write about to be able to get a reference.
  • There is no indication of what makes this subject notable. Whilst the importance of notariety is contested, it is generally considered a useful guideline. This is because if something is not notable, no secondary sources can be found to verify it (and hence is intertwined with the above).

Your best bet here would be to begin scouring google, news websites, etc, to try and build up a selection of references to the Monster game from respected sources. LinaMishima 03:37, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

  • Thank you for the inputs. I have found the needed resources from the Web. I have also researched the additional facts on user accounts and servers for the opening sentences. On notability, well, I can submit less notable browser games which have articles in Wikipedia. Jordz

[edit] Your move of White African

I do not think such a move was in any way appropriate without any sort of discussion whatsoever. Please see my comment on the talk page. -Elmer Clark (talk) 16:27, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Atatürk Üniversitesi

A tag has been placed on Atatürk Üniversitesi requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
